Benefits of CTPAT Certification

  • Enhanced Security: Mitigate the risk of loss, theft, and contraband smuggling by implementing robust security practices.

  • Operational Efficiency: Members are considered low-risk, resulting in reduced scrutiny and shorter wait times at U.S. ports of entry.

  • Competitive Advantage: Certification provides a competitive edge, fostering better trade relationships and potentially offering preferential access to contracts that require CTPAT compliance from business partners.

  • Access to Resources: Gain access to the CTPAT Portal, which includes training materials, best practices, and threat assessments.

Our Approach to
CTPAT Certification

Assessment and Planning

  • Review MSC: We will review the relevant CTPAT Minimum Security Criteria, covering areas such as corporate, physical, personnel, transportation, and cybersecurity.

  • Conduct Risk Assessment: We will help you conduct a documented, overall risk assessment to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and potential security gaps in your supply chain.

  • Gap Analysis: We will identify areas where your current procedures do not meet CTPAT requirements and create a written action plan to address these vulnerabilities.

Documentation and Implementation

  • Develop Written Procedures: We will assist in drafting or updating your company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) manual to ensure all security policies are clearly documented and cover all required CTPAT criteria.

  • Implement Security Measures: We will guide the implementation of necessary physical and procedural security measures, such as establishing access controls, seal security procedures, and employee screening processes.

  • Training Programs: We will help establish a security training and awareness program for employees, covering topics like reporting incidents, cybersecurity, and specific inspection procedures.

Application and Validation Support

  • Online Application Assistance: We will help complete the CTPAT application and the online security profile via the CTPAT Portal.

  • CBP Liaison: We can act as a liaison or support your designated Point of Contact during communications with your assigned CTPAT Supply Chain Security Specialist.

  • Validation Preparation: We will prepare your facility and team for the on-site validation visit by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials to verify compliance.

Ongoing Compliance

We recommend ongoing support for mandatory annual reviews of risk assessments and security procedures, as well as assistance with periodic re-validations (typically every four years) to maintain your certified status.
